About My Rehab Journey
What is My Rehab Journey?
My Rehab Journey is a directory of verified neurological rehabilitation practitioners across the UK and Australia. We help people find physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, clinical psychologists, case managers, and other specialists who can support recovery after stroke, MS, Parkinson's, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and other neurological conditions.
We also provide guides and information to help you understand what rehabilitation is available, who can help, and how to access support.
Is it free to use?
Yes. My Rehab Journey is completely free to use. You can search our directory, read guides, and access all our information without paying anything.
Which countries does it cover?
We currently have an active directory for the UK. We're building our Australia directory and will launch it soon. If you're in Australia and want to register your interest, please get in touch and we'll notify you when it goes live.
Who runs My Rehab Journey?
My Rehab Journey was founded by Gemma Eves, a neurological massage therapist and founder of the Neuro Training School. The site was created to solve a real problem: helping people find the right rehabilitation practitioner when they need it most.
Finding a Practitioner
What types of practitioners are listed?
We list physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, clinical psychologists and psychotherapists, case managers, neuro massage therapists, and exercise physiologists. Each has their own role in supporting neurological rehabilitation.
What conditions do they work with?
Our practitioners support people with stroke, MS (Multiple Sclerosis), Parkinson's disease, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, dystonia, ataxia, motor neurone disease, and other neurological conditions. You can filter by condition when you search.
How do I contact a practitioner?
Each practitioner's profile includes their contact details - phone number, email, and website. You can reach out directly to ask about availability, fees, and whether they can help with your specific situation. Many practitioners offer a free initial consultation.
Can I leave a review?
Yes. If you've worked with a practitioner listed on our directory, you can leave a review to help other people make their choice. Reviews are moderated to ensure they're helpful and honest.
What does the Verified badge mean?
The Verified badge indicates that we've confirmed the practitioner's qualifications, registration, and professional credentials. All Verified practitioners are registered with their relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC in the UK, AHPRA in Australia).
What's the difference between verified and unverified?
Verified practitioners have had their credentials checked by us. Unverified listings are still real practitioners, but we haven't yet confirmed their qualifications - they may be newly registered with us or in the process of verification. All practitioners are responsible for their own professional standards and regulation.
For Carers and Families
I'm a carer. Is this for me too?
Yes, absolutely. My Rehab Journey is for carers, family members, and anyone supporting someone with a neurological condition. We have a dedicated guide for carers with practical advice about getting support, looking after yourself, and navigating the system.
Can I search for practitioners who offer home visits?
Yes. When you search the directory, you can filter for practitioners who offer home-based therapy. This is especially useful if the person you care for has mobility difficulties or finds it easier to practice at home.
What if I'm not sure what type of practitioner I need?
That's exactly what our guided search is for. Answer a few questions about the person's situation and goals, and we'll suggest which types of practitioners are most likely to help. You can then search the directory for those specialists in your area.
General
How do I report an issue with a listing?
If you find inaccurate information on a listing or want to report a problem, please contact us with the practitioner's name and details of the issue. We take all reports seriously and will investigate.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. We take privacy very seriously. When you contact a practitioner through our directory, you're communicating directly with them - we don't store or access your conversation. Our website uses secure encryption, and we don't share your information with anyone. For full details, see our privacy policy.
